Welcome fellow single parents
I want to say hello to all single parents reading this blog. If you work from home or are contemplating working from home, you have come to the right place. I am a divorced, single mom of two young children. In my experience, working from home allows me the flexibility I need to raise my children without the need of full-time childcare. I can be here when they need me most.
I was fortunate in that I was already self employed from home before I had children. Initially, however, I also worked a job outside of the house on a part-time basis. When my first child arrived, I made the decision to work online completely. It was a scary move but the end results have been rewarding.
I won’t lie to you, it is not as easy to work from home with children as you might imagine. I have deadlines to meet and clients to keep happy just the same as I would if I worked outside of the home. My job is demanding and there are times when I need help with the kids for a few hours to catch up on my work. However, relying on help with childcare every now and then is certainly better for my children (and my pocketbook) than having to send them to a daycare!
I will continue to post my experiences and provide information on how I run a successful business from home that offers me enough income to raise two children in a cozy little house on my own.
