Working at home can provide you with an opportunity to improve your health.  In order to do so, however, you cannot fall into bad habits.  For instance, since you do not need to leave home for work, don’t get into the routine of working at the computer all day without much mobility or physical activity.  Working from home can make it tempting to eat more and snack throughout the day.  Avoid this temptation!

By working at home, you can have some flexibility to be healthier.  You are saving time each day by not having to get dressed up to go into the office.  Of course, you also save on travel time to and from work.  Use a small block of this time to plan some exercise each day.  There are many activities you can do from home.

Try an aerobics video or dancing.  Go out for a walk or short jog each day.  Get outside and play with the kids!  There are many ways to exercise without leaving home or taking up too much time.  You should also remember to take some rest breaks while working so that you can get up and move around to keep your metabolism flowing.

Working from home should make it easier for you to eat three well balanced meals each day.  You will not be rushing out the door in the morning.  You should be able to eat a healthy breakfast.  Plan healthy meals for you and the kids.  By planning in advance the task of preparing your meals each day will not seem so time consuming.

Always be looking for ways to eat healthier and to live an active life!
