Know That You Will Be Busier Than Ever
Being self employed does not always mean that you will work less hours. In fact, you might find yourself working more than ever. There are very few business owners who get rich quick or who even get rich at all.
Your business will take hard work, dedication and time. You will need to have patience with your business and with your kids as you will be trying to get enough hours for work out of each day.
Having a home based business does offer flexibility in terms of a schedule but it does not automatically equate to less hours being worked each day.
As a business owner you will be responsible for completing all work projects that you take on (if you offer services). You will also need to market your business, do the bookkeeping and other aspects of running a business. This will take time in addition to the work you do each day for your business.
Keep in mind that amount of time you will need to spend on your business when determining if a home based business is best for you. Know that in the beginning of any new business you are likely to be busier than ever.
